MARIONI X DOS BAR X KERMIT LYNCH JULY 11

$35.00

KERMIT LYNCH TAKEOVER in collaboration with MARIONI WINES
5 to 8 PM
$35 Ticketed: Flight of 6 Wines and Fatted Calf Charcuterie
Garrett Pierce, DJ (of Kermit Lynch)

Pouring and comparing wines from France’s “Gang of Four” (and more!) drawing parallels with Sonoma’s return to traditional winemaking through the lens of Dan Marioni’s wines.

The Gang of Four and more led the “Back to nature” movement, which they called a “return to the old practices of viticulture and vinification,” started roughly 50 years ago with Jules Chauvet. Marcel Lapierre, Guy Breton, and Jean Paul Thévenet, tired of the commercial wine-making practices taking over the French market, the gang and others very openly called for a return to nature. This is similar to what we see in Sonoma today in new California. The commercial winemaking practices have left us feeling empty-handed, and we are calling for a similar return to nature like the gang and their peers. We call for biodynamic or organic practices and more small wine-making houses with greater transparency and unadulterated product. Kermit Lynch started in 1972 as a musician, writer, and traveler. He wrote “Adventures on the Wine Route“ in 1988 and has become one of the best old world French and Italian wine importers in the US. In Dan’s words: “The growers in this line up are absolutes legends and really inspire me to make better wine and put Sonoma on the map in a similar way. Kermit Lynch works directly with these growers; they have no middlemen. There is no smoke and mirrors and they only sell wine that they drink. Their focus on grower and client relations has led to their consistent success. I am inspired by the transparency and simplicity of the business”.
