Isa Wines
Isa Wines is the creative and deeply personal winemaking project of Isabella Morano, a San Francisco-based sommelier, winemaker, and champion of natural wine. What began as a spark during a formative family trip to Italy—where Isabella first felt the cultural and communal power of wine—has grown into a bold and thoughtful endeavor grounded in integrity, intuition, and joy.
After moving to California shortly after high school, Isabella immersed herself in the Bay Area’s food and wine culture. She built her foundation through sommelier training and roles at celebrated institutions such as St. Vincent, Arlequin Wine Merchant, Wine & Spirits Magazine, Absinthe, Habibi Bar, and NOPA. These years behind the bottle shaped her palate and her passion—but it was the hands-on experience of working harvests that solidified her path.
Between 2017 and 2020, Isabella trained with pioneers of low-intervention winemaking, including Martha Stoumen, Elisabetta Foradori, Domaine Mosse, and Bedrock Wine Co. These formative vintages taught her to trust her instincts, farm responsibly, and let the fruit—and the land—speak for itself. In 2021, she made her first wine under the Isa Wines label: just one barrel of Sauvignon Blanc from Santa Cruz. Since then, the project has grown to include a small but expressive lineup of wines made with organic fruit, native fermentation, and minimal sulfur.
Isa Wines reflects Isabella’s values as much as her aesthetic. Each bottle is made with intention and care, often featuring hand-drawn label art by visual artists like Pablo Andrés Cristi, and released through collaborations with local creatives, DJs, and pop-ups. Her wines—like “You’re a Dream,” “Don’t Quit Your Day Job,” and “Claire Annelise”—are playful yet precise, rooted in both place and personality.
At its heart, Isa Wines is about community, creativity, and sustainability. Isabella donates a portion of profits to BIPOC-led food and fermentation organizations and centers fair labor and land stewardship in all aspects of production. Her work has been recognized by VinePair as one of the “15 Winemakers to Watch in 2025,” and her wines—while made in small quantities—continue to sell out and resonate with an ever-growing audience.
Isa Wines invites you into a world where wine is alive, personal, and part of something bigger. Whether you’re opening a bottle with friends, dancing at a release party, or just enjoying a quiet glass at home, the spirit of Isa is there: honest, vibrant, and made to be shared.
